The Ultimate Vintage Utility: A highly specialized device designed to burn custom EPROM chips for iconic vintage drum machines like the Oberheim DMX, Sequential Drumtraks, and LinnDrum. Think of this as your Analog Expansion Pack
12-Bit Era Power: If you live or die by your vintage drum machines, this box multiplies your creative power tenfold by allowing you to sample and burn your own custom drum hits.
Sampling & Sound Character:
Engine: 8-bit, monophonic sampler with variable sample rates.
Selectable Sample Rates: Choose between 12, 16, 24, or 32kHz (yielding bandwidths of 4.8 to 12.8kHz).
Memory / Sample Time: 64K memory providing 5.46, 4.09, 2.73, or 2.04 seconds of sample time depending on the selected rate. Different "blocks" can utilize different sample rates.
True Hardware "Bitcrushing": Allows real-time monitoring through the A/D and D/A converters before recording. Doubles as a massive, gritty "analog-style" bitcrusher that modern plugins simply cannot replicate (similar to the Sequential Studio 440).
Editing & Control:
Onboard Manipulation: Edit start point and decay time, or apply digital bit manipulation including reverse, stretch/squash, and ring-modulating one sound against another.
Modern Integration: Send all samples as a MIDI SysEx dump to modern software editors (like WaveLab), edit them on your computer, and send them back to the Prommer to burn your custom EPROMs.
Connectivity: Controlled via MIDI and Trigger.
This was purchased back in 1984-1985 and was never used. Taken out of box only for pics. Includes original cords as pictured. Powers on, 100% brand new working condition. Includes original 20 page Service Manual (last pic). Can email 91-page manual upon request.
