Produced in concert with renowned drum maker Rudi Rasta of Bombocraft, we consider these to be among the best Djembes we've ever built. Everything we know about building Djembes was considered when designing this drum. We challenged our world-class carvers to produce a deep carved ethnic and tribal pattern that would befit a drum of this quality - we think they succeeded. The amazing tribal carving found on this drum wraps around the entire shell. We've used special non-bleached goatskin heads and new enhanced rasta colored rope that helps keep the drum in tune. This Djembe generates an amazing range of sound from thunderous low-pitched bass and natural middle tones, to high pitch slaps. This is a professionally built, musician-quality Djembe drum that creates an old world sound that is natural, warm, and full-bodied; a sound that synthetic heads can't produce. All Sageman drums start with a handpicked piece of solid mahogany. The shell is precision lathe cut and hand-carved. You won’t find another drum design like this anywhere in the world.
